"Connor. Connor!"
Body jerking, Lester let out a startled gasp. Breathing raggedly, disgust seeped into him when a drop of sweat trickled down his neck.
Concentrating on that repulsion, Lester attempted to calm down. This was ridiculous.
Sneering, Lester turned onto his side, uncaring when his duvet fell from the bed.
Eyes closing, Lester tried to forget the dream. It wasn't real, and it didn't matter who'd died in that building. He wouldn't have cared any more or less either way.
Trying to fall asleep, Lester told himself that it was true, even though he knew it was a lie.
